Westend Verlag was founded in January 2004. It is a non-fiction publisher focusing on politics, economics, society and ecology and the numerous well-known authors in its publishing program. It is focused on background information for one’s own assessment of social processes and orientation, or rather solid knowledge for everyday life. The program aims to find relevant topics for an increasingly critical audience and to have them tackled by outstanding authors. Almost all of the books have been conceptually developed within the publishing house, and thus, most have been original editions by German-language authors. This also explains the above-average presence of Westend authors and topics in the media.
