Founded in 1983 in in Pownal, Vermont, Storey was passed over to Workman Publishing, one of the largest and most successful independent publishers, in 2020. For over 20 years, Storey flourished with the support of everyone at Workman, expanding to include values-based, hands-on learning books for kids. In 2021, as an imprint of Workman Publishing, it joined the Hachette Book Group.
Founded in 1978, Timber Press is internationally recognized as the leading gardening publisher and is dedicated to sharing the wonders of the natural world by publishing books from experts in the fields of gardening, horticulture, and natural history. Timber Press joined the Workman family in 2006, which in turn joined Hachette Book Group in 2021.
